Welcome to the Education Department! We are a vibrant community of engaged scholars and students learning together to improve the quality of education for all students. Our work takes place in partnership with schools and community agencies where learning happens.
Our faculty prepares education professionals to meet the needs of our communities through reflective practice using tools of inquiry to investigate questions about teaching, learning and school reform. Our graduates become educational leaders in P-12 schools, community agencies, colleges and universities to inspire others to work toward educational change.
Community engagement is central to our mission. The Education Department has collaborative relationships with multiple schools and community agencies. In 2015, 719 education students engaged in meaningful learning in 56 schools and programs in 34 communities in the greater seacoast area to provide 100,700 hours of community outreach!
Please take a few moments to browse our website. We hope you will find a way to participate in our community through taking a course, enrolling in a program or connecting with a colleague. For those who are taking an initial step toward becoming an educator, we invite you to make a difference — Teach!
