Faculty Fellow Talk: "Walking to the Sun: A 21st Century Journey", Prof. Tom Haines
Prof. Tom Haines will be giving a Faculty Fellow Talk on Thursday, 3/23 at 12:40pm in MUB 302 about his work studying the energy production industry in America.
Walking to the Sun documents six walks the author is taking across landscapes of fuel in America to explore our pressing need to shift from carbon to non-carbon fuels. Step by step, while moving from oil, gas and cola to wind, water and sun, the journey examines at ground level the scale of our consumption and our evolving relationship with the natural world.
The Center for the Humanities annually hosts a series of informal lectures featuring the recipients of faculty fellowships. The talks focus on the fellows' research. They provide an opportunitiy for faculty members to learn more about each other's work and allow the Center to show off some of the intellectual riches it has helped foster.
