Nine music students and three dance students from UNH will be visiting China May 21-31. The trip is sponsored by the UNH Confucius Institute and is intended to build closer relationships between UNH and Chengdu University.
The UNH 3 O’Clock Jazz Band will be embarking on a tour of Switzerland and Italy this summer from July 5-17. The band has been invited to perform at two prestigious international jazz festivals, the Montreux Jazz Festival (Montreux, Switzerland) and the Umbria Jazz Festival (Perugia, Italy).
"My name is Jillian Meszar and I am going to be a junior in Music Education this fall, focusing on Double Bass and String Pedagogy. This summer I will be in Durham teaching violin, viola, cello and bass and focusing on string pedagogy. I am also going to be doing a lot of folk violin and jazz bass gigs as well as volunteering in student orchestras in the area.

Talk about plum assignments: When Boston native Carrington Cazeau ’17 went to Washington, D.C., for an internship with the U.S. Marshals Service, he was one of only four assigned to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. “Not many people get to work there,” says Cazeau, who is planning a career in federal law enforcement.
Hundreds of UNH employees were recognized for their talents and dedication during a staff recognition ceremony May 5 in the MUB’s Granite State Room. In addition, five staff members were awarded the university’s highest staff honor — the Presidential Award of Excellence.
