Guinea to Great Bay: Afro Atlantic Lives, Culture and History
This semester I've been a consultant for the Seacoast African American Cultural Center in Portsmouth, housed in the Discover Portsmouth Center: 10 Middle Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801. I aided board members in curating a semi-permanent exhibition titled "Guinea to Great Bay: Afro Atlantic Lives, Culture and History" in an overhaul of their space to feature a stunning, newly accessioned collection of African art and material culture from the late Ben Werner. Our grand opening for the public is June 30, 6:30.
Casey Golomski, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at University of New
Hampshire, left, holds a piece of the Seacoast African American Cultural
Center's newest African artifact collection with Sandi Clark, SAACC president.
