Argentinian organics and agroecology: A feminist approach to building food systems for justice and sustainability
Dr. Ike Leslie, Postdoctoral Research Associate in Food Systems, University of New Hampshire
How can we structure food supply chains to prioritize social justice and ecological sustainability, rather than economic extraction and concentration? In this presentation, environmental sociologist Ike Leslie shares insights from their feminist ethnography of alternative food supply chains in Argentina. We will discuss different pathways for organizing food systems to reverse industrial agriculture’s contributions to global existential problems: climate change, biodiversity loss, toxic exposures, and food insecurity.
