Honors in Major
UNH offers students the opportunity to take smaller, more intense "Honors" courses for an enriched academic experience. There are two different honors options: Honors-in-Major, and University Honors.
Honors in Communication without University Honors; 3.5 GPA in communication courses is required.
A student completes honors work in three 600- or 700-level courses, at least one of which must be designated as an honors course by the department. In addition, Honors in Communication students must complete CMN 799H Senior Honors Thesis for a letter grade with a B or better.
University Honors; 3.4 GPA and a total of 32 credits in honors coursework is required.
Students must complete four general education/discovery category honors courses, including a 444H (16 credits) AND at least 16 credits of honors-in-major coursework. Four of those credits must be from CMN 799H Senior Honors Thesis, and students must complete this with a B or better. Interested students should consult with Professor Danielle Pillet-Shore, Director of the Communication Honors Program (862-2362), and/or Professor Per Fjelstad (862-3972), and the University Honors Program Office.
