Welcome to the New Hampshire Scholars as Educators Program (NHSEP)
The New Hampshire Scholars as Educators Program adheres to an honors program model, offering promising undergraduate students earlier and more-direct engagement with the graduate department's structures and resources.
- Scholars are offered an academic advisor in education. At least once throughout each semester, Scholars will have 'One-on-One' meetings with their faculty advisor.
- During their senior year, students will be admitted into the Accelerated Master's Program. The Accelerated Master's Program allows students to take up to 12 graduate level credits towards a master's degree prior to receiving the bachelor's degree during the Senior year. Courses may be taken for graduate only or dual credit at no additional tuition cost.
- Students will also have expanded field placement options and be prioritized in consideration for study-abroad and research opportunities.
- .....and very much more!!!
We look forward to answering your questions and getting to know you better.
Incoming first-year students may apply to the program and, once accepted, must maintain a 3.2 overall GPA. In addition to general University standards and responsibilities, Scholars must earn a "high recommendation" in EDUC 500, and submit yearly reports demonstrative of satisfactory progress in education-related course/experiences.
In addition to all that is listed above, Scholars enjoy departmental Networking Receptions, invitations to our selective "Examining Education" Lunch Discussion Series, access to the cozy Scholars Lounge, borrowing privileges in the carefully curated "Faculty Picks" Library, and supportive relationships with Mentor Educators.
Scholars have the opportunity to connect with local educators for casual conversations, unofficial volunteer opportunities, and potential teaching observations. Additionally, these mentors may help scholars connect with their colleagues who may be working on projects of interest.
We want entry to the program to be as smooth as possible. As such, we invite you to simply indicate on your UNH Common Application that you have an interest in education. We'll take care of the rest!
