International Attendees

Guidelines for International Attendees

If you are NOT a citizen of the United States, and wish to either present at or attend the International Family Violence and Child Victimization Research Conference, please read this information carefully as we are limited in the assistance that we can provide to you.

PLEASE NOTE: International attendees are solely responsible for all forms, filings and contacts with a United States consulate in their country of origin to obtain a visa to enter the United States.

Letters of Invitation

Please note: Not everyone is eligible to receive a Letter of Invitation.  In order to do so, you must be either a presenter with an abstract accepted by the Conference Committee (See #1 below), or have proof of participation in a previous conference (See #2 below) or be a member of an appropriate international professional society (See #3 below).  To receive a Letter of Invitation, please submit any ONE of the following:

  1. Abstract acceptance letter (if you are one of the presenters and your presentation abstract has been accepted by the Conference Committee);
  2. Proof of participation in a previous conference hosted by the Family Research Laboratory and Crimes Against Children Research Center, University of New Hampshire (please provide the invitation letter, registration confirmation or other relevant documents);
  3. Reference letter (from an international professional society or association (pertaining to family violence or child victimization) to which you belong; a letter from a university with a related program is also acceptable). The letter should be current and should contain the referring organization’s legible contact information (phone number, fax number, email and website, if website is available) for verification.  Letters with ineligible contact information will not be accepted.

Please send the requested information by email, fax, or regular mail as soon as possible.  Be sure to include your full name and mailing or e-mail address where the invitation letter should be sent.

A letter of invitation is not a commitment on the part of the Conference Committee to provide any financial support. Once approved you will be sent one (1) original letter of invitation by standard mail to the address you have given. No faxes or overnight mail will be used to deliver letters.  Requests for invitation letters must be received by April 8, 2020.
