Music Major - B.A. Composition Option
The bachelor of arts composition option is intended for those who wish to focus on musical composition within a liberal arts curriculum. This option could lead to a professional career in composition, arranging, or graduate study in music.
Students wanting to declare a composition major must submit a portfolio of their original compositions in addition to an audition on their major instrument. Students must declare music as a major before the beginning of the junior year, but it is highly recommended that they declare as early as possible, considering the large number of required courses.
