Semester in the City

Women's Studies partners with the Semester in the City: Boston

UNH undergraduate students have the opportunity to spend a semester in Boston as Student Innovation Fellows participating in hands-on learning through high quality and well supported 30+ hour per week internships with a leading social change organization (nonprofit, business, or public sector) – in community development, social justice, health, education, environment and other areas dedicated to the public good.

How will my credits be applied to my Women's Studies or Social Justice Leadership degree?

1st Majors

  • Apply up to16 credits to the major.
    • If a student is using INCO 505B credits (4) as their Social Science Discovery Category, then only 12 credits will count toward the 1st major.
    • Credits will be dispersed between the cross-counted elective requirement for the major.
      • Students can petition to have up to 8 credits count toward a 600 or above cross-counted electives.
      • In the case of a student who has earned all of their cross-counted elective credits, a students can petition to have up to 8 credits count toward WS-designated electives.
  • Up to 8 Credits can be counted between both your major and minor

2nd Majors

  • Apply up to16 credits to the major.
  • Credits will be dispersed between the cross-counted elective requirement for the major.
    • Students can petition to have up to 8 credits count toward a 600 or above cross-counted electives.
    • In the case of a student who has earned all of their cross-counted elective credits, a students can petition to have up to 8 credits count toward WS designated electives.

Women's Studies Minor

  • Apply up to12 credits to your minor.
  • Up to 8 Credits can be counted between both your major and minor

Social Justice Leadership Minor

  • Apply up to 8 credits to your minor.
  • Up to 8 Credits can be counted between both your major and minor
