An Exploration of Italian-Jewish Foods & Identity
Overview
Chloe is currently working on her senior thesis, an exploration of Italian-Jewish food and identity. The paper --academic, of course, but definitely including some creativity and attempts at humor --will focus on the history, culture, and traditions of Italy's Jews, and the ways in which their food has been shaped by all of those things. She intends to present some of her work at an upcoming conference hosted by the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and in the meantime looks forward to leafing through Italian-Jewish cookbooks, articles, and blog posts, and, hopefully, learning some things about herself in the process.
