Gallery Attendant -- 2023-2024

CLOSED

Hours: 4-6 hours per week and/or dependent on the perimeters of the work-study award and the student’s class schedule
Classification: Work-study, hourly position

Reports to: Exhibitions and Collections Manager

Position Purpose: Gallery Attendants at the Museum of Art provide security for the art exhibited in the Museum, assist visitors and Museum staff as requested, and answer basic exhibitions and program questions.              

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES
1.           Provide front line security for art objects on exhibit.
2.           Enforce established visitor rules
3.           Greet visitors, log attendance, record classes and groups visiting the Museum, and provide customer services
4.           Perform daily floor checks and report security and other issues—such as missing art, projectors/monitors not working, burned-out light bulbs, or labels that have fallen off the wall or pedestals
5.           Assist staff members with projects as requested
6.           Perform other duties as requested
7.           Perform cleaning duties according to UNH Covid-19 Roadmap

QUALIFICATIONS
1.           Must have a work-study grant of no less than $1,500.00 per year.
2.           Responsible, mature, and self-directed college student with good communication skills.

    Curatorial Assistant -- 2023-2024

    Curatorial Assistant 

    Hours: 4 hours per week 
    Classification: NON-work-study, hourly position

    Reports to: Museum Director

    Position SummaryThe Museum of Art seeks the assistance of a student employee to work 4 hours per week providing curatorial support and exhibition specific research for the Museum Director. Interested students should have an art history or history background and/or research interest that is related to the particular exhibition theme.  Two hours a week shall be spent working in the Museum Gallery while simultaneously working as a Gallery Attendant, greeting visitors, logging attendance, providing customer services and enforcing established visitor rules.  All four hours of work shall be in the Museum or Museum offices.

    Program Assistant -- 2023-2024

    Hours: 5-6 hours per week. Occasional evening events 
    Classification: NON-work-study, hourly position

    Reports to: Education and Outreach Manager 

    Position SummaryCoordinate logistics and conduct research and outreach for Museum of Art programs. Research and outreach with both public, student groups and with UNH faculty for class visits. Requires student to research current and upcoming exhibitions for an awareness of themes in order to facilitate potential curricular partnerships with diverse faculty members and departments. Special emphasis will be on connecting with colleges and departments outside of COLA. All four hours of work shall be in the Museum or Museum offices.

    Social Media Assistant -- 2023-2024

    Reports to: Education and Outread Manager 

    Position SummaryDevelop original social media content collaboratively with Museum of Art staff based on exhibitions, programs, and more, while maintaining consistent MOA branding.  Assist in outreach with UNH colleges, departments, institutes, student groups, clubs, and more to increase Museum of Art brand awareness and traffic across multiple platforms. All four hours of work shall be in the Museum or Museum offices.
