2011-2012 Award Winners

Lauren Banker won the

  • 2012 John G. Winant Fellowship "The fellowship pays a generous stipend for a summer internship with a New Hampshire nonprofit organization or government agency, recognizing exceptional students with an interest in the nonprofit and public sectors and providing valuable work experience in the field of public service."
  • The Ursula Robinson Daley '93 Women's Studies Scholarship Fund "The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarship support to students majoring in Women's Studies. Recipients must demonstrate a financial need and be in good academic standing."

Jenna Dion won the

  • 2012 Undergraduate Research Conference Award of Excellence "For her oral presentation at the URC Parents Association Undergraduate Research Symposium. The Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) is a celebration of academic excellence at the University of New Hampshire."

Jonathan DiTroia won the

  • Pink Triangle Award "The Pink Triangle Award is given to students, faculty, staff and community members who have made outstanding contributions to efforts for equity and visibility for the UNH GLBT community. The Pink Triangle Award is the annual tradition created by the UNH GLBT community of honoring leaders and heroes."

Stacy Hoang won the

  • University Women's Award "To that senior woman who shows the greatest promise through character, scholarship, leadership and usefulness to humanity."
  • CYOS "UNH wants to highlight student's success stories. One way of doing this has been through the Create Your Own Story program which features students who have been identified because -- in their own way -- they have tried to make the most of their time at UNH."
  • Spirit of New Hampshire Award "The Spirit of New Hampshire Award is given to those that astonish and raise the bar of what it means to volunteer in New Hampshire."
  • Undergraduate Social Justice Award "The UNH Diversity Team presents the annual Social Justice Awards to individuals or groups who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, courage, and role modeling in promoting social justice issues at UNH and beyond."
  • Malcolm and Virginia Prize "The purpose of the Malcolm and Virginia Smith Endowed Prize Fund is to recognize graduating seniors who have demonstrated the most progress and growth academically in their major field of study during their undergraduate years in the College of Liberal Arts."

AJ Jeffries won the

  • 2012 Kidder Award "Through the Kidder Fund Awards, the university honors one staff member, one faculty member, and one student who, through their scholarship, leadership, or outstanding efforts, foster greater understanding of sexual orientation at the University of New Hampshire."

  • Movers and Shakers Award "This is a unique award program which celebrates collaborative leadership. The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership (OSIL) and the Memorial Union Building (MUB) sponsor this award program. This award recognizes those who use a collaborative style of leadership. Collaborative leaders understand the importance of relationship-building and value inclusiveness."
