Model UN

Model UN is a multidisciplinary organization that attracts students from diverse majors ranging from biology, engineering, international affairs and political science. Students research the country they are representing as well as the issues facing that country. The group gains the experience of research, professionalism, knowledge of global issues and in some cases, understanding of technical issues in global security, development, and trade relations.

Every spring the team travels to the national conference sponsored by the National Collegiate Conference Association (NCCA) in New York, where they join 5,000 students with over half of the conference participants coming from outside of the United States.

While in New York, students meet with United Nations Ambassadors, participate in the conference and spend time at the UN headquarters. The group often brings the experience back to UNH with programs to help educate the broader campus community about global issues and another countries' perspectives and policy goals.
