Aimee Blesing is a specialist in Voice and Acting technique who has worked as an actor and actor trainer in Australia and the United States. As an actor, Aimee graduated from the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2003, after which she worked steadily as an actor and actor trainer based in Melbourne, Australia for seven years. A Certified Trainer of the highly regarded Lessac Kinesensic Voice & Body Training, Aimee has been mentored by some of America's most prestigious Master Teachers of voice and dialect training, including UNH’s Professor Deborah Kinghorn. She was appointed Lecturer in Acting at the University of New Hampshire in 2010 and currently teaches Acting 1 and Introduction to the Art of Acting. In addition to her acting classes at UNH, Aimee has also taught introductory and advanced voice and movement technique, dialects for the stage, and acts as production coach for acting, vocal technique and dialects for UNH productions when she can.
Aimee has appeared in many theatrical productions playing roles such as Helena, Peter Quince and Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (WAAPA, Essential Theatre, theatre.unmasked), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (Complete Works Theatre Company), Rosalind in As You Like It (theatre.unmasked), Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (CWTC), Margaret in Much Ado About Nothing (Essential Theatre), Adriana in Comedy of Errors (Essential Theatre), Diana & Lychorida in Pericles (WAAPA) by William Shakespeare, Bellinda in The Innocent Mistress by Mary Pix (WAAPA), Natasha in Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov (WAAPA). She has directed productions in Australia and the USA, including original Australian play The Pyramid by Siobhan Coleman, Hecuba by Euripides, Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, and makes her UNH Directing debut in Fall 2014 with the main stage production of Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare.
In 2010, Aimee co-founded local theatre company theatre.unmasked, producing, directing and acting in Shakespeare and original theatre productions in Dover, New Hampshire. theatre.unmasked has since provided opportunities for UNH students and alum in the form of teaching appointments, acting roles, and lighting design positions. Aimee is an active member of the Dover Arts Commission and the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce, facilitating projects in arts research, education and activity in the local community.
