
The UNH Department of Theatre & Dance offers seven different day camps for students in Grades 1-12 that cover a wide variety of skills and genres: Drama, musical theatre, puppetry, aerial arts, dance, theatre company, and technical theatre Camps culminate in a performance for family and friends.
Summer STARS Summer Camp Offerings

Dates: Mon - Fri July 10-14
Time: 9 am – 1:30 pm (check in begins at 8:30 am)
For students entering grades 1-3 in Fall 2023
Cost: $250
Registration closes June 15
Enrollment: 18 students
Everyone loves a good story! They are even better when the stories come to life right before our eyes! Camp participants get to peek into the magic that happens when their favorite stories are turned into live performance. Campers will get to touch, play, and create their own puppets.

Through drama, music, movement and art, students showcase their natural acting impulses. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to enroll. A showcase of the wonderful work prepared by students will be recorded during camp and will be available to download post camp.

The Junior Academy includes multiple areas of theatre. This camp teaches skills necessary to jumpstart success in theatre. Classes will focus on acting methods & styles, technical theatre basics, theatre etiquette & language, and more. The goal of the Junior Academy is to build a solid foundation in theatre and prepare students for future participation in the advanced academy and/or future theatrical productions. A showcase of the wonderful work prepared by students will be recorded during camp and will be available to download post camp.

The Advanced Academy is an intensive camp which explores multiple areas of the dramatic arts. The Academy goes “beyond the basics,” strengthening and challenging students to bring them to the next level. Curriculum of this camp includes acting, musical theatre, voice, movement, elements of design, stage combat, choreography, and audition techniques in small group sessions. A showcase of the wonderful work prepared by students will be recorded during camp and will be available to download post camp.

Dancing with the UNH STARS!
Dancers in grades 5-12 are invited to participate in our popular Dance Intensive Summer Series. This unique program, offering an array of dance disciplines and styles, will be taught by skilled & passionate dance professionals, including faculty, alumni and students from the acclaimed UNH Dance program. Students will study many different dance forms and receive hours of inspiring classes, improving their technique in all genres: ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and aerial dance.
Junior Prerequisite (Age 10-12): Formal dance training of at least 3 consecutive years is recommended.
Senior Prerequisite (Age 13 and up): Formal dance training of at least 5 consecutive years is recommended.
Dancers will be grouped by age and ability based on an assessment the first day of camp.
Appropriate dance/movement attire required.
A Showcase Performance will wrap up the week, location TBD.
