The English Department highly recommends pursuing an internship experience while you are at UNH if you are able to fit it into your schedule. Internships are a great way to gain work experience in your field of interest before you graduate. Most employers now expect that prospective employees will have had at least one internship experience during their academic careers.
The English Department offers a number of institutes and programs that provide unique opportunities for both undergraduate- and graduate-level students as well as for youth and adults in the seacoast community and beyond.
The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) offers a wide range of managed study abroad programs that are administered by the COLA Center for Study Abroad. These programs provide opportunities for UNH students from all colleges to engage with diverse cultures and to prepare themselves for a globally interconnected workplace while making progress towards degree requirements.
UNH also offers opportunities for new experiences right here in the U.S. with national exchange programs.
The English Department manages a study abroad program in Cambridge, England. The College of Liberal Arts manages a second program in London, England. Both programs offer English Department majors an opportunity to take literature and writing courses towards their major.
