Nina Morrison is pleased to present the 2021 Undergraduate Prize Plays: Nine staged readings of student-written plays, each completely new and original. Each night features three One-Act plays written, directed, and acted by students. The UPPs highlight each year what is possible when our students have the freedom and resources to work collaboratively to create their own theatre. In past years, we have fully produced two or three prize-winning plays. This year thanks to a great number of excellent play submissions, shifting to a zoom staged reading format, as well as to Tom Alsip’s generosity of vision, we have coordinated with the advanced directing students to produce Zoom staged readings of all nine of the most prize-worthy plays.
The UPP committee was very impressed by the range of vision, humor, creativity, bravery, insight, critical questioning, and pure storytelling acumen of our UNH student playwrights this year, and were glad we were able to bring so many to vivid life, through the magic of Zoom, straight to your computer screen.
