Career Coaching

What is career coaching?

Many definitions of career coaching exist, but this one most accurately reflects our beliefs:

The goal [of career coaching] is to support people in making informed decisions about their career development and trajectory, as well as offer various tools that they can use—resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles—to meet those goals.1

Is career coaching right for me?

Career coaching can help you confidently navigate the following topics:

  • Career documents (i.e. resume, cover letter, CV, LinkedIn Profile)
  • Defining your professional interests and strengths
  • Jobs and internships for your major
  • The job/internship search
  • Interviewing
  • Networking
  • Salary negotiation

How do I meet with a career coach?

You can schedule a one-on-one appointment with a COLA career coach on Handshake, UNH’s new career management system. You can also meet with a Career Ambassador—a highly trained UNH undergraduate student—during drop-in hours.
