Melissa Manseau

Melissa Manseau graduated with a B.A. in Music Education from UNH and a M.M. in Vocal performance with an emphasis in Opera from the Univ. of Northern Iowa. Melissa is equally inspired on stage as well as in the classroom. Ms. Manseau has performed with Opera North, Opera by the Bay, Boston Vocal Artists, Salt Marsh Opera, Cape Cod Opera, Bronx Opera, Granite State Opera and Sarasota Opera. Favorite roles include, the title role in Suor Angelica, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Leonore in Il Trovatore, Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw, and the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors. Ms. Manseau teaches to all ages and abilities. She believes that if you develop, build, and practice daily the fundamentals of good function and technique, you can sing well in any style, including Rock/Pop, Folk, Jazz, Opera, Choral, and Musical Theatre. Currently, Ms. Manseau is a full time Lecturer in Voice for the Theatre and Dance Department at the University of New Hampshire, Durham, where she teaches an average of 40 students per week how to belt in a healthier way, expand range and projection, overcome vocal challenges, build stamina and endurance, and explore all genres of Musical Theatre repertoire from Jerome Kern to Kerrigan and Lowdermilk. Ms. Manseau has been teaching, directing and developing young voices through Broadway Kids, UNH S.T.A.R.S camps, former Bell Center of Dover, Garrison Players Youth program, and Musical Arts in Exeter and Dover, for over 20 years.
