UNH Music alum, Brandon Duras has been awarded the Maine Music Educators Outstanding New Music Educator of the year. On a recent trip to Washington D.C., the Brunswick High School Wind Ensemble, along with the Treble Choir and Chamber Choir, directed by Ashley Albert (she was also awarded Maine New Music Educator of the Year) acheived multiple Gold, highest score awards. In addition, Brandon recently traveled to Warsaw, Poland as a finalist in the Warsaw Winds Conducting Competition 2021. Brandon has been getting around and making his mark in a big way.
Brandon received his Bachelors degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of New Hampshire, finishing in 2019. He is also a freelance trumpet player has played with the New Hampshire Philharmonic, Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra and Lakes Region Big Band.
