UNH Choirs

Every student with any major is welcome and encouraged to sing in the choruses at the University of New Hampshire!  All ensembles are open to both music and non-music majors, undergraduate and graduate students.  Choral music is a tradition that fosters community-building, cooperation, harmony and creative expression among participants of diverse backgrounds and skills, with the human voice being the common denominator. UNH Choirs provide a safe space and inclusive community, and offer the opportunity to keep music-making in your life, whether it’s your chosen career path or a just something you enjoy participating in.  Singing in UNH Choirs is a great way to meet people on campus that you automatically have something in common with, and a wonderful de-stressor during your day.  We invite you to join one of our three choirs on campus, and yes, you are good enough to sing in college.  Join us this semester, and you can read more about each choir below!

  • All auditions will be IN PERSON.
  • Please prepare a 2min cut of one song by Carole King or James Taylor (pianist provided). Bring sheet music in a key that suits your voice for the collaborative pianist.
  • You may also be asked to vocalize for range or tonal memory.
  • A note about style: Singing should be authentic to the style or inspired by the style. Singers are advised to use sheet music and original recordings as a learning aid, but performance does not need to be a carbon copy of the written notes and rhythms. (Collaborative pianist will play what is on the page).
  • SIngers who accompany themselves well on guitar or piano may audition with their instrument if they wish.

Singers will be cast as soloists, backup singers or both.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Amanda Munton.
