Classroom Conversations
Based on their research on “Reclaiming Civility: Towards Discursive Opening in Dialogue and Deliberation,” co-directors of the Civil Discourse Lab, Associate Professor of Communication Jennifer Borda and Principal Lecturer in Communication Renee Heath, are going to share their development of creating discursive openings in difficult conversations. The first half will discuss the concept and the latter half will discuss how the concept translates into pedagogical settings.
If you plan to attend, kindly RSVP by emailing humanities.center@unh.edu or by leaving a message at 603-862-4356. You will then be provided with a Zoom link and password.

The Center for the Humanities usually hosts First Monday events at the Three Chimneys
Inn in Durham and is
currently hosting them on Zoom. The events center around short, informal
talks by faculty members, designed to give colleagues a window into their
work. We reserve time at the end for questions and conversation.
