Thai Story Time with Jaed Coffin, Author and Expert Storyteller

Wednesday, October 21, 2020 - 9:30am to 10:00am

Register for this webinar here. Among many things, UNH professor Jaed Coffin is a father, author and middleweight boxing champion. As a professor of creative writing, he knows the power of storytelling and has guided many others to discover and share their own stories. As a son whose life was shaped in part by his mother’s journey from central Thailand to Maine, he also understands the way stories span generations and cultures. When his own daughters were young, he read the Thai stories “Peek!” and “Hush!” to them to expose them to Thai words. We hope you will join him as he reads these stories, told in a blend of English and Thai, to your families. Jaed Coffin is the author of the memoirs A Chant to Soothe Wild Elephants and Roughhouse Friday. His work has appeared in the New York Times, The Sun Magazine, Nautilus, Moth Radio Hour and TED Channel. A regular contributor to Down East magazine, he teaches writing at the University of New Hampshire and lives with his family in Maine.
