Dr. Leslie J. Couse (Ph.D., Syracuse University) career is dedicated to advancing the profession of education. Most recently, as Executive Director of Engagement and Faculty Development, she directed programs to advance the professional success of faculty at the University of New Hampshire. Her current writing is focused on the professional development of faculty in higher education. Dr. Couse's earlier work focused the professional preparation of PreK-12 educators through increased access, knowledge, and opportunities. Her research coalesces around inclusive teacher education through interdisciplinary collaboration and technology to support early learning, and leadership development. Dr. Couse also served as Chair of the Department of Education and as Principal investigator for multiple US Ed funded grants, including the UNH Teacher Residency for Rural Education (TRRE). She is lead editor of The Handbook of Early Childhood Teacher Education (Routledge, 2016), served on the editorial board for the Journal of Early Childhood Teacher Education, and the Governing Board of the National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Educators (NAECTE).
