Solomon Maingi
I specialize in researching and teaching the political economy of development, with a specific interest in how the commodification of nature for market expansion affects livelihoods. In particular, I explore the vulnerability of rural agrarian livelihoods to both market forces and environmental crises. My work examines the intricate dynamics of subsistence, aiming to understand how these livelihood systems can adapt and cultivate resilience in the face of economic and environmental shocks.
