The Hate U
Give is a 2018 American
drama based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Angie Thomas. The film
explores themes of race, police brutality, and activism through the eyes of a
teenage girl. The Hate U Give is a powerful and thought-provoking film
that addresses timely and important issues related to race and justice. The
CDL will facilitate small group discussions after the film. This event is
funded by the Civil Discourse Lab and the COLA Dean’s Unrestricted Gift Fund.
