Gallery of Art

The Senior Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition at the Museum of Art celebrates the achievements of degree candidates graduating from the Department of Art and Art History at the University of New Hampshire. The exhibition presents works of art by Bachelor of Arts candidates and thesis work from the Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates.

The Bachelor of Arts program prepares students for a diverse scope of innovate and creative professional careers with a strong background in art and art history leading to opportunities for entrance to graduate school. The exhibition features works from graduating students representing concentrations in drawing, ceramics, illustration, design, painting, photography, and sculpture in the Bachelor of Arts program.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts curriculum provides an intensive studio experience for students who plan to enter professional graduate school or pursue careers as professional artists. The Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibition features works from four candidates who draw upon their own experiences and interests to develop a body of work to present in this annual exhibition. Their areas of concentration feature a variety of works in ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. The exhibition features bodies of work from the candidates Molly Maynard (North Hampton, NH), Olivia Williams (Naperville, IL), Madeline Pender (Hampton, NH), and Julie LaRue (Exeter, NH).

Programs to accompany the exhibition include:
  • Opening Reception: Friday, April 21, 6:00 – 8:00pm, at the Museum of Art, University of New Hampshire
  • Naked Arts: Wednesday, April 19, 12:00 – 2:00 and Thursday, April 20, 12:40 – 2:00, at the Museum of Art. Naked Arts is a series of programs presenting the inner creative process of student-artists working in various disciplines. Presenters will describe the process, research, and other creative aspects undertaken to bring an artistic creation from initial inspiration to the stage or Museum. This may include a performance or excerpts from their work to illustrate their creative scholarship.
