Lawrence Beemer

Dr. Lawrence Beemer studied at SUNY Purchase and New Paltz before completing is Ph.D. in 20th Century American Literature and Critical Theory at Ohio University. His dissertation examined the complex and protracted narrative structure of American Superhero comics. His essay, “Superhero Comic Book Narrative and Continuity: From Freytag’s Pyramid to The Sierpinski Triangle,” appeared in the International Journal of Comic Art. Since joining the faculty at UNH, Dr. Beemer has frequently taught composition and developed courses focusing on Science Fiction, Horror, and Crime Fiction.
